The search for a new Tapu in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah has come to an end. According to reports, actor Nitish Bhaluni will play New Tapu in TMKOC. Raj Anadkat and Bhavya Gandhi have both played this role before him. The show’s official YouTube channel posted a video of the show’s producer, Asit Kumarr Modi, introducing the actor as the new Tapu.

This is the third time an actor has taken on the role of Tapu. There were reports last week that Nitish had been cast in the show. Besides that, after appearing on Meri Doli Mere Angna before, this will be his big break in the television industry.

Previous Role of Tapu in TMKOC

For those who are unaware, the character was previously played by Raj Anadkat, who joined the show in 2017 after Bhavya Gandhi – the original Tapu – left. Raj announced his decision to leave the show in December, bringing an end to a five-year relationship. However, rumors about his departure from the show circulated for months before he confirmed the news in December. Raj wrote on his social media page, “Hello everyone, it’s time to put all questions and rumors to rest. My involvement with Neela Film Productions and ‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’ has come to an end. It’s been an incredible journey of learning, making friends, and experiencing some of the best years of my career.”

Shailesh Lodha, who played the title character in Taarak Mehta, left the show earlier this year amid much controversy. After that, Sachin Shroff was cast in his place by the producers. And now, after much speculation, actor Nitish Bhaluni to play Tapu in TMKOC.

Actor Dilip Joshi Statement

Meanwhile, during a media interaction, actor Dilip Joshi, who plays Jethalal in the show, asked about Daya’s return to the show. “It is up to the creators. They will determine whether they want to replace the actor and cast a new one or not. I miss the character of Daya as an actor. For a long time, you’ve all enjoyed good and fun Daya and Jetha scenes. Ever since Disha Ji left, that aspect, that humor, has been missing. Daya and Jetha’s chemistry isn’t working out too well. People are also saying the same thing. ‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’ recently celebrated 14 years since its debut on July 28, 2008. Apart from Tapu’s character, there have been many changes to the cast since then. Disha Vakani, who used to play Dayaben, left the show in 2017, and her character was not replaced till now. After Shailesh Lodha left the show, Sachin Shroff was cast as Taarak Mehta. And now, the show’s creators have officially cast actor Nitish Bhaluni as New Tapu in TMKOC.
