Satish Kaushik’s biography – Satish Chandra Kaushik was born on April 13, 1956 in Dhanounda, Mahendragarh, Haryana, India. His zodiac sign is Aries and did his schooling from a municipal school at his hometown. Later after that, he shifted to Delhi and enrolled himself at Kirori Mal College in here. In 1972, he completed his graduation and while he was pursuing graduation, he had interests in the field of acting, drama and theatre. He joined a theatrical society during his college days due to which he started missing his classes.
He represented his college in various events and was even rewarded for best actor in a play named “Teen Apahij”. Thereafter, he started his career in acting by joining an acting course at FTII in Pune, Maharashtra. His father, Banwari Lal Kaushik was an accountant and mother Basanti Kaushik was a house maker. He had 5 siblings, 2 elder brothers and 3 sisters. In 1985, he got married to filmmaker Shashi Kaushik and has a daughter named Vanshika Kaushik.
Satish and Shashi had a son, Shanu Kaushik who unfortunately died at the age of 2 in 1996. Satish was at the peak of his career at that time. Satish Kaushik started his acting career by performing as a stage actor in Delhi in the early 1970s. Officially he made his debut in the movie Masoom and played a role in Chakra movie as a boot polisher for which he received Rs.500 at that point of time.
Besides that, he is known for his unique comic timing in “Mr. India”, “Ram Lakhan”, “Saajan Chale Sasural”, and “Deewana Mastana”. During his time at the Bollywood, he got an opportunity to work with many famous actors like Om Puri, Anupam Kher, Naseeruddin Shah and Archana Puran Singh. His comic sense became famous from the role of Calendar in Mr. India. Fans loved the character and the way Satish Kaushik executed it. Not only in Bollywood, he was successful in creating his charm in Hollywood as well by working in the movie “Brick Lane”.

Death
On March 9th 2023, the actor felt uneasy and asked his driver to take him to the hospital. Unfortunately, upon arrival he was declared dead by the doctors of Fortis hospital in Gurugram. Anupam Kher told the media that Satish Kaushik was visiting his family friend in Delhi after Holi where he started experiencing chest pain and uneasiness at night. While he was being taken to the hospital, he suffered a massive Cardiac Arrest that eventually led to his death.
